Well, that was quick. The last weekend of August signals back to school season and the unofficial end of summer, but there is no shortage of things to do as some of the biggest street parties and events of the year arrive this weekend.

A two-day celebration of all things Italian with a grape-stomping contest, wine and live entertainment.

Saturday and Sunday: Super Toy and Comic Show
Actor Edward James Olmos of Battlestar Galactica fame (not to mention numerous films) is the guest of honor as 200 pop-culture vendors setup shop for two days.

Saturday: Santana Row Wine Stroll
Santana Row hosts and end-of-summer wine stroll to benefit the Bill Wilson center.

Sunday: Silicon Valley Pride
San Jose hosts its first pride parade in seven years followed by a street party.
