In what is the 38th homicide in San Jose this year and the fifth killing in less than two weeks, an 18-year-old man died late Monday night after he was shot.

The man died from his gunshot injuries while being treated at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center after the shooting was reported at 8:56 p.m. in the 1700 block of Ross Circle, San Jose police said.

Officers found the 18-year-old suffering from at least one gunshot wound before he was taken to the hospital where he later died sometime before midnight, according to police.

Further details about the shooting are expected to be released later this morning, police said.
