San Jose Music & Nightlife - Breweries
|

|
Since that fateful day in 1991 when the Tied House Brewery opened it's doors in downtown and began treating the population to hand crafted beers, San Jose has become a haven for fresh brews of world-class quality. Gordon Biersch followed not far behind, opening a downtown location in 1996, officially putting San Jose on the map as a brewery town. GB has since become widely popular for gormandizers and German microbrews. San Jose's thriving brewery scene has even bubbled over into neighboring towns like Los Gatos and Campbell. The Rock Bottom Brewery is a Campbell institution and Los Gatos Brewing Company has become known for rich beers accompanied by outstanding gourmet meals. The Sonoma Chicken Coop in downtown provides a slightly less pricy alternative to these other breweries while keeping an impressive collection on tap.
