Steve Harwell of rock band Smash Mouth will be taking on an eggcellent eating challenge at Guy Fieri’s Johnny Garlic’s Restaurant in Dublin this Sunday.
In response to a challenge from a blogger at SomethingAwful.com, Harwell will be attempting to consume two-dozen eggs in one sitting. Harwell had originally agreed only to do the competition if fans could raise over $10,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a goal that was reached in less than a week.
Those who come out to Garlic Johnny’s to see the challenge at 1pm Sunday will have an opportunity to meet with Harwell and get his autograph. San Jose Shark’s mascot, Sharkie, will also be out at the event to cheer on Harwell’s feast. Immediately after the challenge, Guy Fieri will stick around for a book signing at 2pm.
Fans can also view the “egg challenge” from any computer in the world via a live stream at Stageit.com. Tickets for the online viewing are free of charge with an optional donation to St. Judes. Spots are limited.
