Dinner Prepared by Visiting Italian Chef Thursday, March 3
You don’t have to go to Italy to eat dinner prepared by a top Italian chef. On Thursday, March 3, Donato Enoteca will host a special dinner featuring Ca’ Rossa Winery from Roero, Italy. The $110 prix fixe menu prepared by guest chef Davide Palluda, chef/owner of Ristorante all’Enoteca in Canale, Italy. The menu will consist of five courses, accented with black truffles and each paired with a complimentary wine.

Tour and Tasting at CooperCooper-Garrod Vineyard Saturday, March 5
Even when a vineyard is dormant, there is still plenty of activity. Enter the secret world of wine making by taking a tour of Cooper-Garrod Vineyards and winery Saturday at 11am. You will be gently escorted from vine to glass and finish the tour inside the tasting room. Begin at the rough-pruned Chardonnay vines, head to the crush pad and barrel room then end up at the ultimate destination, tasting the finished product!

Grow an Edible Garden Class Saturday, Mar. 5
Learn how to feed yourself from your own garden, including important basics such as garden design and planning, composting, soil testing and preparation, seed propagation and transplanting, watering and how to nurture healthy edible crops. You can create a garden oasis of beautiful edibles in the front, side or back of the home. Master harvesting techniques and learn what compost crops to plant after harvest. Permaculture design and Grow Biointensive methods blend together in this series at Common Ground Organic Garden Supply and Education Center.

Delicious Reception, Hosted by Slow Food Sunday, March 6
As if the California Small Farm Conference presented by Slow Food weren’t enough, there’s a tasting reception marking the start of the event on Sunday, March 6, in the Grand Ball Room of the San Jose DoubleTree Hotel. The bounty will consist of fine wines and exceptional micro-brews paired with seasonally driven culinary delicacies. And to make it that much better, all proceeds and donations benefit local farmers!

Winemaker Dinner at Tessora’s Barra di Vino Wednesday, March 9
Take a mid-week break and enjoy dinner at Tessora’s Barra di Vino featuring Campbell’s Travieso Winery. On the menu for the evening are phyllo triangles with zucchini and cotija cheese, tri-tip with golden beet salad, and pork tenderloin both paired with Sangiovese, and to finish the evening sweetly-a cabernet sauvignon devil’s food cake paired with “El Ray” cabernet sauvignon.
