Fantasy of Lights
It’s a mile and a half drive through a holiday display of lights that would make Clark Griswold envious. Vasona Lake Park becomes a winter wonderland full of animated characters, holiday music on short-range radio, a 90-foot tree and even an erupting volcano.

Tuesday:
Kyle Kinane
He’s been called “a bleak, misanthropic Ernest Hemingway look-alike with a penchant for suicide jokes.” Kyle Kinane was recently included in Comedy Central’s “Hot List” and was ranked fifth in AskMen.com’s list of “Top 10 Emerging Comedians.”

Wednesday:
Roger Waters
“Will the technologies of communication in our culture serve to enlighten us and help us to understand one another better, or will they deceive us and keep us apart?” asks Roger Waters of Pink Floyd. “I feel it is my responsibility as an artist to express my, albeit guarded, optimism, and encourage others to do the same.” With a renewed sense of hope for the fate of humanity, Waters performs the “The Wall” in its entirety at the HP Pavilion.

Thursday:
San Jose Short Film Festival
Camera 3 hosts the second annual San Jose Short Film Festival with an opening night gala event on Thursday that includes a mixer in the lobby at 6:30pm, the premiere screening of the winning shorts at 7:30pm, and a Q&A forum with the filmmakers after the screening.

Friday:
SJSU Student Film Festival
The University Theatre at San Jose State University hosts the fall Student Film Festival featuring short films (each under 10 minutes) made by students of the Film Department. A panel of faculty members will select the top films to receive honors.
