There are a number of new home developments in San Jose, thanks largely to land being redeveloped from industrial and commercial uses. One of these, with several homes available now and more coming online soon, is Hampton Park, located off Oakland Road and Montague Expressway in north San Jose.

The 151-home development offers four floor plans, with the smallest a two-bedroom, 2 1/2–bath layout priced from $454,990, and the largest a 1,573-square-foot home with four bedrooms and four baths priced from $559,990.

Highlights include ceramic tile in the entry, baths and laundry, stainless GE appliances, granite-slab counters and rounded drywall corners. All homes have two-car tandem garages with living space on the above two floors, except the four bedroom which has a standard side-by-side two-car garage. Homes have decks,  balconies or porches.

Modern Ice Townhomes is located not far away (on the former site of its namesake) at the corner of Berryessa and Oakland roads. There are three homes available: a finished 1,660-square-foot, four-bedroom, four-bath home with a two car garage for $438,433, and another with the same floor plan that’s ready to build. Under construction is a 1,391-square-foot, three bedroom, 2 1/2–bath home, also with a two-car garage.
