A San Jose man’s arrest Tuesday afternoon was followed by police detonating several explosive devices found in his home in Japan Town.

Mark Sedlock, 63, of San Jose, was arrested after a bomb squad responded to a report of a potentially explosive device inside his home in the 400 block of North Sixth Street. Police were at Sedlock’s house executing a search warrant when they discovered the potentially explosive device. A neighbor’s tip reportedly led to the arrest.

The SJPD’s bomb squad discovered and detonated four additional explosive devices and materials.

After police finished searching the home, nearby residents were allowed to return to their homes. Surrounding roadways that were closed to traffic were also reopened.
