A grotesque colonnade of ice dancers in Guadalupe River Park--adjacent to the San Jose Arena. (Or Compaq Center or HP Pavilion--whatever.)

Many in San Jose chaff at the idea of erecting a statue of former mayor Thomas Fallon--guilty of raising the Stars and Stripes during the not-quite-a-war with Mexico.

Ice skaters are another story.

Statues of girls in pink Tu-Tu's and gents in silk jammies qualify for statues without hesitation. Triple Sow-Cows and bruised buttocks apparantly score high on the path to becoming a statue.
