Other kids hated Lewie because they coudn't get tattoos.

The tattoo "studios" on W. San Carlos were not what I was hoping for. Surrounding businesses remain in charming decay, whereas the tattoo shops are now housed in tidy little antiseptic shoppes. I was anticipating large fat men with naked lady tattoos and dirty needles. Whatever happened to tradition?

In the early 70's, I came very close to getting a tattoo of the state map of Louisiana with a Pelican inside state outline. To this day, I regret not getting it.
