The un-dead albinos of Alum Rock Park harbor a centuries old loathing of canines. Cryptic no-doggie icons are placed throughout the park. Trespassing puppies are warned to vacate the premises, or suffer a fate worse than, and including, death. Shish-ka-bob-dog is served on the full moon of every month during wild midnight parties held on the roof of the quaint little Alum Rock Cabin, the ululations are heard as far away as Milpitas.

Poodle raids into Willow Glen are not uncommon. The more squirming poodles an albino male can stuff into his burlap bag, the greater his prestige. Not to mention a distinct advantage with the women-folk. As times change, females in the clan will more than likely participate in the raids as well. Change is slow in Alum Rock Park. Perhaps sensitivity training is in progress.

Out of the corner of my eye I catch a flash of color.
