Borrowing its name from the book by local historian, writer, and filmmaker Geoffrey Dunn, Santa Cruz Is in the Heart this immersive exhibition focuses on contested and counter-histories, the diversity of Santa Cruz history, and the nobility of a simple life. Featured here are intriguing stories set over a number generations, ranging from the Jazz Age to the late 19th century and more. This exhibition explores how we tell our stories and the secrets we want to keep.
