Yet another great Canadian indie act plucked up by the eagle-eyed label Jagjaguar, the crew from Pink Mountaintops brings warm layers of sound and a surprising amount of energy to their moody performances. The group’s latest album and third full-length is Outside Love, and it features an 18-person studio accompaniment in the form of string ensembles, extra drum sections and even an all-female choir. The group’s flavor, however, remains delicate despite the number of cooks in the kitchen. Performing live, the squad will fall back on its six permanent members, but if the clips on YouTube are to be believed, that will be more than enough to get the job done.
