Description
The New York City-based Indo-Chamber Ensemble, Karavika, comes to the Museum of Art and History's 2nd Friday in September for an interactive musical performance. Inspired by the rhythmic complexities of Indian Classical music and the collaborative arrangements of old film and folk music from South Asia, Karavika aims to bridge borders across all musical landscapes. The members of Karavika have musical training and performance experience in Western Classical, Indian Classical, jazz and American styles, resulting in a sound that is genuinely fresh and innovative, yet familiar and inviting.
