Description
As a founding member of the Vivian Girls, the Dum Dum Girls and Crystal Stilts, Frankie Rose has the credentials to make any indie-rock fan swoon. Fans of her earlier work will find her solo album an intriguing change of pace. Interstellar abandons the safe cove of noise-pop on which her earlier work was founded, and instead takes a plunge into the dangerous waters of New Wave revivalism liable to sink weaker artists. Happily Rose deftly navigates the terrain with what may be her finest songwriting to date, revealing her as a talent able to transcend her early lo-fi efforts.
