Introduced to each other through a mutual friend, DJ / producer DJ ZAQ and drummer / producer Lion Bellamy Chiu found that between the two there was much in common. They both wanted to entertain and aggressively make people boogie to electronic dance music. To satisfy the “Raging Bulls” within them that desired to promote dance floor debauchery and to push the genre of electronic dance music to the limit, they created Robot De Niro. Already musical veterans and trendsetters prior to joining forces, the two knew that as a duo their unique production/remix style and infectious live show would truly create a splash in the ever growing club/music scene.

Pre-Robot De Niro, both DJ ZAQ and Lion Bellamy Chiu established themselves as accomplished musical artists:

DJ ZAQ has a following and foundation solidified in his unique ability to orchestrate upbeat and high-energy sets from a wide range of genres. His performances utilize solid technique, creative instinct and a largely customized song library to drive frenzy into any and all dance-floors before him. His superb talents have allowed him to share the stage with the notable acts LMFAO, Steve Aoki, Far East Movement, Hyper-Crush, Mickey Avalon, Dirty Nasty, Cali-Swag District, DJ Scene, DJ Cobra, Tony Arzadon and the legendary disco and dance music pioneer Nicky Siano of Studio 54 Fame.

Lion Bellamy Chiu got his start by drumming and producing for the Avant-garde dance rock / indie disco group Fans of Jimmy Century. The band has established itself as quite the musical force as their music has been featured in a slew of popular television shows such as Running Russel Simmons, The Real House Wives of NYC, Gossip Girl, Melrose Place, Community, The L-Word, Ugly Betty, The Listener, The Hills, and Samantha Who. Also popular brands Forever 21, Roxy Europe, and Zippo Lighters have used FOJC songs in their online commercials/ads.
