Description
Thursday, February 19, 20157–10 PM
$5 after 5 PM (members 2-for-1)
Celebrate the new exhibition Postdate: Photography and Inherited History in India and enjoy Bollywood-style entertainment, including music from DJ Salim, a dance lesson by the Mona Khan Company (8 PM), and a DIY Art activity for adults.
ArtRage is also the “closing party” for Momentum: an experiment in the unexpected (which ends February 22). From 7–8 PM, meet the creative “interveners” behind Momentum: bicycle designer Craig Calfee; inventor John Edmark; comedian Dhaya Lakshminarayanan; calligrapher Carl Rohrs; San Francisco Ballet’s Damian Smith; yarn-bombing street artist Streetcolor; and sound artist Marc Weidenbaum. Each will speak about his or her project in a progressive tour of the exhibition. Plus see a new short film about artist Trina Merry’s live bodypaint performance inspired by Andy Goldsworthy (continuous screenings from 7–10 PM).
