Neighbors had frequently complained to the police about high stakes gambling taking part in Hillview Park in East San Jose. Yesterday, the SJPD responded.  As they entered the park they found a group of men playing dice. Most of them cooperated, but one of them, Eduardo Gomez, 25, of San Jose, fled the scene.  Police chased after him and a helicopter even joined the melee before he was finally arrested. Police Spokesman Sergeant Ronnie Lopez says that the man had an outstanding warrant for driving without a license. After last night, he was also charged with evading arrest and misdemeanor gambling.

Two other men, Gustavo Diaz, 19, and Mario Esquivel, 40, were also arrested at the site and charged with felony possession of marijuana for sale.
