San Jose Jazz Summer Fest is back August 8-10 in downtown San Jose with 12 stages and more than 100 scheduled performers.

The festival is celebrating its silver anniversary by bringing iconic bassist Bootsy Collins, whose resume includes playing in the James Brown band, Parliament-Funkadelic and an extensive solo catalog. Other artists performing this weekend include Kris Bowers, the Pacific Mambo Orchestra, Snarky Puppy and more.

San Jose Jazz Summer Fest, formerly known as the San Jose Jazz Festival, started in 1990 at the Plaza De César Chavez. Since then, the festival has grown and now stretches to multiple venues across downtown San Jose from local favorites such as Cafe Stritch and Blackbird Tavern, to the stage at San Pedro Square Market.

Though Summer Fest is held at multiple locations, the event coordinators from San Jose Jazz have centered the festival at Plaza de César Chavez, with the rest of the stages strategically placed within walking distance from the park.

Single day tickets start at $15, and three-day passes can be had for $65 when purchased online.

There are several other ticket options including a three-day adult VIP pass for $285 when purchased online, which includes shaded premium seating at the Kaiser Permanente Main Stage (Sat-Sun only) and priority access at smaller stages and Fest+ events, entrance to the VIP Pavilion with unlimited food and drink, VIP parking, a limited edition 25th Anniversary Commemorative Book and a VIP Badge.
