While it would seem college hockey players and beer would be a match made in Labatt Blue Heaven, San Jose State’s club hockey team is in crisis mode.
The entire team was suspended from play this past week following accusations of student-athletes drinking during or after team events as well as possible hazing. SJSU President Don Kassing ordered an investigation and there is a rumored YouTube video that has yet to surface. A quick search didn’t turn up any evidence of hazing, but since this is a hockey story, here’s a fight from a Spartans game a few years ago.
The team is cooperating with the investigation and the team’s president said in a statement it expects to be cleared of any wrongdoing.
