RISE (Roots for Individual and for Social Empowerment) http://www.riseaboveabuse.org
is a grassroots organization founded in 2012 that offers a unique philosophy for transforming the issues concerning sexual abuse against children. Ultimately,we seek to enable those affected by abuse (directly & indirectly) to find their voice, become empowered, transform their lives and work together to advance our plan, http://www.riseaboveabuse.org/ending-the-cycle-of-sexual-abuse/, in a way that is safe and productive.

RISE presents a San Francisco Fundraiser--Voices Rising – A Promise for the Future. The event includes a fun-filled evening with media coverage to capture each moment as guests arrive and walk the red carpet. Plan to come, dressed to impress in your finest cocktail attire, and experience firsthand a promise for the future. This sophisticated event features complimentary hors d’oeuvres during the VIP Reception and cocktail hour along with live music by soul/jazz singer, Monica Marquis and her band. Comedian, Phil Johnson, delivers a laugh a minute, followed by live musical entertainment by Rudy Colombini and the Unauthorized Rolling Stones. In addition to a hosted bar serving wine, beer, and signature cocktails until 9:00p, there will be an exciting live auction as well as a spirited silent auction with notable and unique items. A no-host dinner menu will be available as well.

Entertainment:
Formed by Rudy Colombini – who is widely regarded as the most visually accurate “Mick” in the business – The Unauthorized Rolling Stones are now a true phenomenon, celebrating over ten years of bringing the experience of a live performance by “The World’s Greatest Rock ‘n Roll Band” to a stage near you! They are recognized as the leading Rolling Stones tribute band in the world, and considered by Stones insiders and die hard fans alike as…better than the real thing;”

Will Lynch – Host
Founder and Executive Director of RISE – Roots for Individual & Social Empowerment, Will is an advocate who is committed to ending the cycle of child sexual abuse worldwide. He works to strengthen individuals and communities by developing seminars, workshops, and other learning opportunities that serve the cause. He possesses an MBA in International Business and brings a diverse range of approaches to the work of RISE, drawing on the latest research, theory, and educational models.

Brian Copeland – Comedian/Television Host/Commentator
Brian Copeland is a multitalented comedian, writer, television host, talk radio host and commentator who has basked in the glow of both public and critical acclaim for nearly a decade. His incisive, cutting-edge standup comedy material won him San Francisco’s prestigious Cabaret Gold Award as well as top prize in the Monterey Laugh Off. His unique ability to hilariously cut to the heart of some of our most serious social and political problems has earned him spots as the opening act for such diverse artists as Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Dionne Warwick, Donna Summer, Peabo Bryson, Al Jarreau, Ringo Starr, Manhattan Transfer, Steve Allen, Dana Carvey, Kevin Pollack, Rick Springfield, Lionel Richie, Lou Rawls, George Benson, Patti La bell, Etta James, Gregory Hines, The Righteous Brothers, The Temptations, and the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.

Monica Marquis – Singer/Pianist/Songwriter
Monica has established a reputation as an impressive fixture in the bay area music scene, offering audiences an engaging show of home-grown jazz and neo-soul that diverse audiences love. From her early training in classical piano, vocal jazz improvisation, and world music, to her release of two original neo-soul albums, Monica has proven to be an artist unafraid to reinvent herself successfully throughout her music career. She performs with a dream team of heavy hitters from the bay area music scene, each a star in their own right, and together they continue to play to diverse crowds and devoted fans from all over the bay area. A few of their most acclaimed performances were the KGO Cure-A-Thon (on-air radio performance), the San Jose Jazz Festival, and the Sunnyvale Jazz & Beyond Concert Series.

Phil Johnson – Comedian
Phil Johnson, like everyone else, sometimes gets it and sometimes wonders what the heck people are thinking. He has appeared at the Sundance Film Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and uses comedy and music to dissect that dilemma in both his own life and others. On stage his playful humor and likeable, endearing manner allow him to shake things up without antagonizing the audience. In the end we can only be who we are, try to understand others, and hope they understand us. His unique mix of comedy, music, and kinda dorky performance is – without a doubt – hysterically funny!

Your generous commitment to become a 2013 RISE sponsor will make a significant difference, empower others, and protect children. We all have an obligation to protect those who cannot defend themselves. This is more than just supporting a typical fundraiser. This is our greatest opportunity, not as individuals or enterprises, but as a full stakeholders to take a stand for a cause that’s bigger than all of us – but not beyond any of us – to do what we know is right.

Take advantage of yet another sponsorship opportunity by advertising in the Voices Rising – A Promise for the Future event program. It will be distributed to everyone who attends this fundraiser. Attendees will be referencing the program throughout the evening, and retaining it to use as a valuable resource long after the event has ended. This is a great way to reach an influential audience and increase traffic to your website.

It goes without saying that RISE depends on generous donations to subsidize our operations and programs. However, not all of our contributors give cold, hard cash. In-Kind Sponsors often find resourceful ways to contribute goods and services that provide monumental value when it is needed most. While we rely on in-kind donations to reduce our costs, we are truly grateful to those individuals and enterprises who are willing to give their time, talent and treasure to a very worthy cause.

RISE Sponsorship opportunities abound. Here is yet another way you can advertise your business while at the same time support the Voices Rising – A Promise for the Future. We would be beyond delighted if you would donate any of the following items from our auction wish list!
