Jose Theatre
Saved by the incessant and effective whining of the Preservation Action Council of San Jose, and other characters of noble spirit.
Pestana
Demolished in 1999. Classic 1960's architecture, emblematic of the decade, thoughtlessly blotted out. One step closer to Epcot Center.
Montgomery Hotel
Saved. Moved 500 feet down the block. It awaits restoration.
FMC
Demolished in 1998. Soulless office complex to replace it.
Pavilion
Demolished in 1999. A not-so-good-idea now laid to rest. The building turned in on itself, which turned away customers. Win some, lose some.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors,
As I foretold you, were all spirits and
Are melted into air, into thin air,
and, like the baseless fabric of this vision
The cloud-capped towers, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself,
Yes, all which it inherit, shall dissolve,
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff
As dreams are made on, and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.
