Description

Keola Beamer is one of the first to fuse traditional Hawaiian slack-key guitar and contemporary music. He can trace his musical lineage to five generations back, even as far back the 15th century rulers of Hawaii. His mellow voice, soft playing and love for nature have been staples in his music, beginning with his debut 1978 LP, Honolulu City Lights. Beamer has been a pinnacle of his native state's music for over 30 years and even teaches his secrets to guitar playing, starting at a time when it was considered taboo to teach anyone outside your own family.
