Description
There must be a market study circulating that confirms Bay Area residents love smooth Jazz in the month of July. We’ve already seen genre legends Kenny G. and Dave Koz make stops in the South Bay, and now lovers of contemporary jazz fusion will be treated to saxophonist Boney James. Heavily influenced by soul jazzman Grover Washington, Jr., James’ style combines R&B with instrumental pop, making for a cool and funky sound that’s instantly recognizable. His 2009 album Send One Your Love, finds James exploring his first concept album, in what James calls the “Ultimate Musical Valentine .”
