The Shasta/Hanchett Park Neighborhood Association working in conjunction with the Alameda Business Association recently announced a free community-building celebration in the form of the first annual Stroll the Alameda event.
Stroll the Alameda is set to debut September 25, from 2-5pm, along the Alameda between Shasta Avenue and Sunol Street.
The free event’s main draws include food samples donated by local restaurants, such as Habana Cuba and Rosie’s New York Pizza, live entertainment along the Alameda and specials at participating businesses.
A wine stroll will be available for event-goers over the age of 21 for $20 per person with advance tickets ($30 on the day of the event). The ticket price includes 10 tastings, a souvenir glass and a map which will serve as a guide to participating locations along the Alameda.
Other activities range from art displays, interactive demonstrations, and the unveiling of a newly decorated utility box along the Alameda in an effort to improve the visual scenery along the street.
