Lights Down Low throws more party voodoo powder into your face bringing you a literal music monster on the sickest soundsystem in SF. Zombie Disco Squad (Made To Play) is bringing his special brand of dance music demonic’s in a special set at Monarch. It’s gonna be all drunk spells, wild ass house,and dark magic dancing all nite. And by all nite we mean all nite. That’s right we may break the seal on Lights Down Low’s special late nite permit and go 4 it. Kicking things off is local boy made good and the newest member of the dirtybird crew Nick Monaco. He’s got bass in a headlock and little bit of trap in the cellar. We are going to get loud, nasty, magic, and go LATE.

Zombie Disco Squad were raised from the dead in 2006. Nat’s sound is inspired by everything from classic house, ghetto tech, disco and hip hop. It’s this off-kilter approach to dance music that continues to see Nat in demand as a DJ, playing at the seediest rave dens to the biggest brightest clubs, including a residency at Berlin’s Watergate for ‘Made For The Night’, tours of Japan, North America, Australia, all over Europe, as well as back in his homeland of England.

Past releases on labels like Jesse Rose’ Made To Play, Dirty Bird and Sound Pellegrino as well as remixes for big hitters such as Cashmere, Black Box and Groove Armada mean that Nat has proved his versatility and demonstrated his natural skill for reworking tracks. His forthcoming debut album ‘Brains’ on Made To Play (May 2012) is a case in point; an all-out assault on the senses that fully deserves it’s place in the spotlight as Made To Play’s only album release this year.

You’d have to be six feet under to not hear the racket he will be making.

Nick Monaco hails from northern California’s Bay Area (or the Bayss Area as he likes to call it) the cradle of hella, hyphy, and 808-heavy house. Monaco quickly discovered San Francisco’s dirtybird records who managed to seamlessly weave all three. It was at their infamous BBQs in the park that truly sparked him to produce bass heavy beats and commit himself to his art.

Nick has truly come into his own. He is taking risks any chance he gets and they are paying off. He kicked off this year with “Long Kiss Goodnight (Soul Clap Edit)” released on dirtybird’s stellar Hatched compilation and as the title indicates, it was edited by the Boston duo Soul Clap, who have since become Nick’s mentors. Most recently his Bayss Feel EP on Anabatic shot to the top of the electronica charts and his collaboration with Kill Frenzy “This1That1″ has been a mainstay in Justin Martin and Claude Vonstroke’s sets all year.

With upcoming releases on Airdrop Records, Wolf + Lamb, and Soul Clap Records, his name better make it into your musical vocabulary this year.
