WHO: Four (4) crowd pleasing & fabulous trainees who believe in what YouLiveAndYouLearn.Org stands for.

WHAT: Each guest bartender has had little or no prior experience in the beverage service industry and they are being taught basic bartending skills.

WHERE: Elixir, 3200 16th Street, San Francisco, CA

EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE:
Each guest bartender has had little or no prior experience in the beverage service industry and they are being taught basic bartending skills.

What is flair bartending?
Flair bartending is the practice of bartenders entertaining guests, clientele or audiences with the manipulation of bar tools (e.g. cocktail shakers) and liquor bottles in tricky, dazzling ways.

What is involved with flair bartending?
Physics. Centrifugal and Centripetal forces. Visualize and practice keeping the liquid forced or "pushed" to the bottom of the bottle. Most moves travel in "arcs" and should lead by the base of the bottle. There are no special "trick" pour spouts. Don't try to flip bottles that are more than 1/4 full. You can flair bottles that are full, you simply cannot put a 360 degree flip on them. Practice. It will come to you.

YouLiveAndYouLearn.Org produces various educational and charitable activities. The funds raised at these events ultimately aim to create a program for students and individuals interested in design and architecture, who normally can not nurture and expose their interests. Due to the lack of jobs during this financial climate, we provide people (high school students, college grads, & licensed architects/ designers) opportunities to gain experience, which can qualify them for certain certification exams. They will create projects, enter competitions, learn new skills, build their portfolios, and become educated about creating sustainable designs for society. This is an educational initiative that helps make many dreams come true.
