Description

Composer/musician Yosvany Terry consciously communicates his African and Cuban lineage through sounds that originated in Africa and inspired new music in the Caribbean, Brazil, and the American South. Today’s concert features music and dance that will look at the common musical aspects of Afro-Caribbean, Latin, jazz, and Afro-Cuban jazz. Yosvany Terry will be joined by an all-star ensemble including Junior Terry (bass) and Osmany Paredes (piano).

The 2009 Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, which takes place from May 2 through October 31, features over 100 free events including music, theater, circus, dance, poetry, family festivals and children’s programs with artists from Cuba, Bali, Brazil, Israel, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Spain, Sweden, and other lands. Yerba Buena Gardens is located between Mission Street and Howard Street and 3rd and 4th Streets in downtown San Francisco.
