he boy from Lion Street, Kyoto blends Japanese roots with American blues.Yoshinobu Takeda aka Takezo from Kyoto, Japan started singing and composing at age twelve. Since moving to San Francisco in ’85 to pursue a career in music, he has performed throughout the Bay Area and has toured across both the United States and Canada. While known for his blues and R&B, Takezo began venturing into music that is not so easily categorized. Combining Japanese with American roots music, he developed his latest album, A Boy from Lion Street.
