Tune out the city and tune in to your soul at Yoga for Hope in Union Square to support cancer research and treatment at City of Hope, September 8


Hundreds of yoga enthusiasts from beginners to experts will gather in Union Square on Saturday, Septmber 8 to participate in Yoga for Hope. The annual event benefits City of Hope, one of the nation’s leading cancer research and treatment centers. The yoga sessions will be led by renowned Bay Area instructors, including Stephanie Snyder, Darren Main, Laura Burkhart, James Higgins, and Mark Morford. Music will be provided by DJ Eric Monkhouse and Kendra Faye. Post-yoga workshops will be hosted by Yoga Garden, YogaWorks, and Whole Foods.
Registration is at 9 a.m. with yoga starting at 10 a.m. Sponsors include BodyRok Studios, Del Monte, The Examiner, The Loft SF, Odwalla, The Pad Studios, Union Yoga, Yoga Journal, Yoga Tree, YogaWorks and Whole Foods.

Registration can be purchased online at http://www.yogaforhope.org/sf through September 6 at a cost of $40 per participant. After this date, participants can purchase their registration on the day of the event for $50.

We are pleased to have the talents of our featured yoga instructors, and we encourage yoga enthusiasts of all levels to join us,” said Mindy Finkelstein, assistant director of development, San Francisco regional office, City of Hope.
Experts at City of Hope have studied the benefits of yoga for both patients and caregivers and seek to further understand the connection between mind, body and spirit. City of Hope’s Sheri & Les Biller Patient and Family Resource Center offers restorative, gentle yoga classes for relaxation and well-being. This program has helped with symptom management and improved quality of life for many patients.
