A Valencia Street staple for many years, X-21 is filled to the ceiling with signature vintage pieces as well as more contemporary (not to mention more affordable) knock-offs of the same designs. "We have something in every price range for every budget," states owner John Conaty. There certainly is something for every taste and budget at X-21, but it helps to be a do-it-yourselfer. You have to be willing to scope out every nook and cranny of this jam packed, 9,000 square foot shop to find what you're looking for. Perambulating through the store, we spotted everything from a vintage steel Bertoia child's chair, to mosaic inlaid coffee tables dating from the 1950s to Herman Miller and Knoll settees covered in their original vintage sixties upholstery.
