Description
The Capitola Book Cafe is thrilled to present another installment in its monthly World Affairs Book Club series. This month's selection is Latin Lessons: How South America Stopped Listening to the United States and Started Prospering by Hal Weitzman. This book explores how most South American governments have become increasingly "resource nationalistic" and have ramped up social spending to meet the needs of the poor and the indigenous. This has led to declining poverty levels in Latin America, yet has also caused increasing poverty in the United States. Everyone is encouraged to read this powerful book and participate in the discussion.
