Market Street Gallery is pleased to present "Word on the Street," an exhibition of screen prints on paper that graphically portray the modern urban landscape.The technique of screen print (serigraphy) is especially suited to the bold graphic styles that the featured artists employ in their street-level depictions of the city. The exhibition opens on September 2nd and runs through September 30th. There is a gallery reception on Friday, September 19th, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
The work of artists Charles Ford, Evan Hecox, Mike Kimball and Hilary Williams feature the imagery of San Francisco, Oakland, New York and Mexico City in four distinctly different styles ranging from photorealism to the graffiti-and street art-inspired.
