Description
Founded in 1976, WesternBallet makes the performing art of classical ballet accessible to the general public. A non-profit institution, Western Ballet has a complete youth program for children and pre-professional teenagers, including scholarships for underprivileged children, and the largest selection of adult ballet classes in the San Francisco peninsula and south bay.Beyond class, our school provides ballet students with the opportunity to perform in two full length story ballets, contemporary repertoire, and a summer intensive program for ages 9-18.
This years Summer Intensive offers an ideal environment for children (ages 4-8) , intermediate (ages 9-12) and advanced (ages 13-19) students who are seeking the opportunity to improve in their technique in an intense learning environment. Under the guidance of accomplished instructors, students will obtain high quality training in ballet, pointe, character, jazz and modern dance, while learning essential choreography from classical ballet works. The program culminates in an end-of-session performance with students dancing in featured roles of the ballet as well as in the contemporary works.
