Description

West Coast Blues for a Cure was established in 2011 as a means of raising funds for organizations engaged in cancer research, education, prevention, advocacy, and services for patients. We organize benefit concerts to honor cancer survivors and showcase the talent of Blues musicians. Through our blues music benefit concerts, we help preserve live blues as an art form and at the same time raise money for other organizations engaged in cancer research and education.

We will hold our 2nd Annual Benefit Concert at Yoshi's SF on May 20, noon to 5:00 p.m., featuring the Soul Queen of New Orléans, Irma Thomas, backed by the Austin de Lone Band, along with Rick Estrin & the Nightcats, The Alvon Johnson Band, and Phil Berkowitz & The Dirty Cats. Proceeds from the 2nd annual concert will benefit Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.
