Description
On Friday, November 11, Youth in Arts will open an exhibition of original mixed media collage by Elisa Kleven in its downtown gallery on C Street. The exhibit will include interactive elements for children, along with handcrafted items from Youth in Arts’ production of The Paper Princess and the Piñata, inspired by Kleven’s books.Blending handpainting with intricately layered cut paper and found materials, Kleven’s collages have appeared as illustrations in over 30 books, including the Paper Princess series, which she also authored.
Visitors of all ages will be invited to compare Kleven’s collages to published images in her books, as well as to the costumes, scenery and props created by Youth in Arts for The Paper Princess and the Piñata.
