A decade of Voodoo Lounge? Man, how many clubs have come and gone in that time? Not only have they stuck around, they’ve taken a giant leap forward in the last year, in terms of bringing big-name touring acts. But they still fill their calendar with local rock and metal bands, hip hop, and DJs. This anniversary show is designed to emphasize the diverse scope of their booking. Headlining is So Timeless, the nine-piece San Jose R&B band fronted by Jonah, whose record This Is The Year came out this year. Local ska favorites the Whiskey Avengers will perform their Christmas songs, which your grandmother will not like, and Mod-driven local rock band Talky Tina opens. At midnight, the show turns into a dance party fronted by longtime Voodoo favorite DJ Rated R. Admission is free until 10pm. Here’s to another dime for the Voodoo Lounge
