The Arts Division, Film and Digital Media, and History of Art and Visual Culture departments present the next installment in their Visual & Media Cultures Colloquium series. Featuring Julia Bryan-Wilson, an Associate Professor in the History of Art Department at the University of California, Berkeley, this lecture is entitled "Places of the Spectator: West Hollywood and Queer Video in the 1980's". Julia Bryan-Wilson's research and teaching focuses on modern and contemporary art, in particular post-war American, Latin American and European art, feminism, queer theory, performance, craft histories, video, art in the nuclear age, and collaborative practices.
