Description
What’s vintage about the Vintage Music Collective is hardly the music itself- a pulsating blend of reggae, soul, and blues- but rather the group’s dexterous ability to inject vibrancy and rhythm into their songs at a time when many bands seem content to do without those qualities. The 12-piece ensemble practices in an East Palo Alto living room, where a wide range of genres are explored via a four-person vocal attack and numerous drums, guitars and horns. Sex, age, and background vary widely across the band’s members, but all of VMC’s musicians seem to agree on one thing: the power of rhythm.
