Oct 25 is the Night to Trip the Light Fantastic
with the opening of San Francisco's
First and only Galley, Event Space devoted to the Art of Neon.

Artist Eric Ehlenberger has been lighting up the landscape of his home base of New Orleans for many years now. Now many of his creations can be seen at Venusian Gardens West , 1286 Folsom street at 9th in San Francisco.

The California venue will join Venusian Gardens, Ehlenberger's studio and gallery in his native New . Known for his uniquely fanciful, luminous hanging jellyfish, Ehlenberger also creates fantasy landscapes, abstract sculpture and fine art contemporary lighting, all detailed with his signature neon. With works gracing residences, major commercial spaces and museums throughout the country, Ehlenberger is now expanding his artistic presence into San Francisco.

A collection of his signature works, the neon and blown glass Jellyfish, is currently casting an otherworldly glow onto Folsom street, stopping traffic, and giving a hint of the magic within this exciting addition to the already vibrant South of Market art scene.

Step inside 1286 Folsom and be transported to Venusian Gardens West, an entire gallery filled with a variety of his works including the beautiful Jellyfish sculptures. Suspended in mid-air, these glass and neon sculptures glow with a life of their own, having the effect of transporting the viewer into a magical universe. At Venusian Garden West , the artist interprets an entire biosphere of fantastical flora and fauna: shimmering swamp gardens, backlit violet lakes of translucent silicon and his trademark Jellyfish floating in open air. Ehlenberger combines the Impressionist's vision of light with Abstract Expressionist tendencies and modernist bolts of electric color. The result is a higher plane of creativity - one normally accessible only in dreams, the imagination, and youthful flights of fancy.
