Description

The University of San Francisco, in correlation with the Dobles Vidas exhibit, will be host to curator of Public Practice for the Oakland Museum, Evelyn Orantes, and executive director of Galeria de la Raza, Ani Rivera. The two community leaders will be discussing the role that Day of the Dead programming plays in community-building and celebrating Mexican culture.

The lectures will take place at the University of San Francisco’s McLaren Conference Center directly across from the University Center’s Market Café on the USF campus.

Dobles Vidas is a showcase of more than 60 works exploring the stories an object can communicate about those who create, use, and collect them. The exhibit holds works from a number of Mexico’s internationally-recognized artists and collectors. The exhibition is the second collaboration between The Mexican Museum and the University of San Francisco’s Thacher Gallery and Masters in Museum Studies Program.
