A JCDecaux technician goes through an extensive check list during the cleaning and inspection of the various electronics, hydraulics, pneumatic, mechanical, and nuclear sub-systems. Everything must work flawlessly for a patron to enjoy his or her urination/bm in a clean and safe environment.

A channeled, rubberized deck allows for self cleaning after every use. I observed sudsy water seeping out the door during the "cleaning cycle." A disinfectant is then applied to the floor followed by air drying. During this operation, the toilet is retracted into the wall and routed through a "miniature car-wash" where it is washed, disinfected, and air dried before being routed back to the "end-user" position.

The alarms systems associated with "Abuse Occupancy" are described on a later page.
