Originally the J.J. Pipe's Alviso Hotel (1905). At one time there were six hotels in Alviso. This building is the last remnant. In the "good old days" it is rumored that "extra curricular entertainment" took place in the upper rooms.

Lunched on a tuna salad sandwich, salad and fries. The food was tasty and well prepared. The air-conditioner needs to be turned down a few notches. It was cold, very cold. There is an actual "grotto" in the dining room, and a stuffed Sailfish on the wall. "Aloha" is spelled out with seashells.

2002 update:
Air-conditioning seems to be just fine now.
