From dust to dust. Rakish to the last, this Citroen DS19 quietly accepts its fate - to fade away in an unkempt field in Alviso.

Jan 1999. Sadly, I must report that the Citroens depicted on these pages have vanished. They were spirited away shortly after these photos were taken.

Citroens are not the only objets-de-civilization to choose Alviso as a place to die. Last Saturday night (1999) I was exploring the streets of Alviso with an Alvisoan, who wishes to remain anomynous, when a terrifying scene emerged from the beams of our headlights. The secret burial ground of computer monitors.

My Alvisoan friend speculated that the carnage was the work of a frustrated Alvisoan -- whose name shall remain anonymous.

As a computer user and a sensitive guy, I feel the pain of this poor soul. We would all be happier if we took our computers to Alviso and smashed the damn things on El Dorado Street, in the dead of night. Better yet, smash them on the dread blood-thirsty Quetzalcoatl statue in San Jose.
