Description

Please join us for Twang Bang -- an evening of old meets new, city meets country, rural American roots music meets foot-stomping bluegrass meets city slicker country music. It's exactly want your late great-grandpappy would have wanted.
Featuring Laura and the Killed Men + One Grass Two Grass + Hay Babes

LAURA & THE KILLED MEN (Tucson, AZ)
Frequently compared to Iris Dement, Chrissie Hynde and Gillian Welch, Classical singer-turned-folk-artist Laura Kepner-Adney shades her Americana with country and echoes of Appalachia. She has developed an expansive songwriting style that highlights her connection to Arizona's unforgiving environment. Rooted in traditional folk technique, Laura's guitar playing exposes her rock and blues influences and showcases her unconventional, rich vocals.

ONE GRASS TWO GRASS (Oakland)
One of the Bay Area's freshest new bands, One Grass Two Grass are fast becoming one of the most popular bluegrass outfits around. They deliver high energy, hard driving, fun loving, old-timey, new-timey, good-timey, California stringband music. Through richly lyrical, naturally inspired originals cushioned by a bed of old mountain tunes and the occasional stomping classic rock number, their unique sound is expressed as a mesh of yesterdays established protocols with the need to bring strings to the times in their own exciting way.
Standing on the shoulders of the contemporary movement powered by Old Crow Medicine Show and The Hackensaw Boys, One Grass Two Grass forge their own style of “folk meets old-time meets rock meets bluegrass” craze.

HAY BABES (Oakland)
With their signature blend of old time, country, and bluegrass tunes, Hay Babes burst onto the Bay Area music scene in 2013. Boasting the double threat of Wendy and Megan at the helm, and backed by a rhythm section of two semi-vagrant callus-handed Buckaroos, Hay Babes will knock politely on the door of your heart then pull a Winchester and force entry the moment you crack the door.
