Description

The first 200 attendees will receive Tumbleweed Wanderers + Rin Tin Tiger record releases.

What do you get when you put two local headliners— each with new record releases— on the same bill? One double-record release party with double the fans and double the dance. On July 26, 2012, join the Tumbleweed Wanderers and Rin Tin Tiger at the Great American Music Hall for a folk faire to remember.

In the last 6 months, the Tubleweed Wanderers and Rin Tin Tiger have been busy— both in the studio and on the road. This unique concert will showcase a tremendous amount of new material. “We have all been hustling and we have both been getting a great response from the Bay’s music community. This show is an opportunity to display our hard work in a big way,” says Sean Sullivan, bassist of Rin Tin Tiger.

Based in Oakland, The Tumbleweed Wanderers have been playing and traveling non-stop since the band’s conception in March 2011. In just a few months the band, playing a “mix of hair folk and soulful rock and roll,” has quickly accelerated from humble sets at Brainwash Café in San Francisco to headlining sold out shows at Bottom of the Hill, The Crepe Place, and The Kuumbwa Jazz Center in Santa Cruz. Members Jeremy Lyon (vocals, guitar, harmonica), Zak Mandel-Romann (vocals, bass, trumpet), Rob Fidel (vocals, banjo, guitar, harmonica), Patrick Glynn (keys, mandolin, melodica, glockenspiel), and Daniel Blum (drums) are “riding an incredible wave of momentum.” And withand are excited to release their newest album creation, So Long, on July 26.

Rin Tin Tiger, alternative folk trio from San Francisco, CA, is comprised of brothers Kevin (songwriting, vocals, guitar) and Sean E. (bass, vocals) Sullivan, and friend Andrew Skewes-Cox (drums, additional vocals). The trio’s sound carries an emphasis on lyrics, organic musicianship, and raw energy— showing traces of Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, and Morrissey. Rin Tin Tiger's new album, Toxic Pocketbook, was recorded live on two-inch tape at Tiny Telephone Studios with no computer editing (of any kind) done to the recordings. Mastered by John Golden (The Shins, St. Vincent, Melvins), the album will be released on July 24. Just two days before their double-header show. See you there!
