Description
Trying is Joanna McClelland Glass' award-winning play based on her experience as a 25-year-old personal assistant to Francis Biddle, a retired statesman from 1967 to 68.Biddle is a patrician octogenarian who's determined to intimidate another secretary his wife hired to help him write his memoirs and organize himself.
Biddle's newest assistant is a simple girl from the Canadian prairie whose intelligence and quiet resolve matches up with this stubborn but health failing genius. As the two struggle to get along and finish their work, they overcome their difference and end up learning to respect one another regardless of age or class.
Starring Kurt Gravenhorst and Alexandra Bogorad. Directed by Cathy Spielberger Cassetta.
