Description

Tim Higgins, Principal Trombone of the San Francisco Symphony, will be presenting a recital on July 17th at 3pm as part of the Summer Brass Institute in Menlo,CA.
Program to include works by Arnold, Defaye, Dutilleux, Part, and Pryor.
$20 Admission*.

Appointed SFS principal trombone in 2009, Tim Higgins was previously acting second trombone with the National Symphony. A Houston native, Tim graduated from Northwestern University and has performed with the Milwaukee Symphony, Virginia Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Washington National Opera, and Baltimore Symphony. In 2005, he won the Robert Marsteller Competition and the ITA Trombone Quartet Competition, both from the International Trombone Association. While at the Tanglewood Music Center, Tim was awarded the Grace
B. Upton Award for Outstanding Fellow. He has soloed with various ensembles, most recently performing the Creston Concerto.

*All proceeds benefit the Summer Brass Institute, which provides music training to young artists through lessons, workshops, master classes, performance opportunities, and scholarships.
