Description
On tour throughout the US and Canada, Trio Balkan Strings performs at the Poppy for a night of virtuosic Balkan instrumental music. From asymmetrical rhythms to original guitar interpretations, the ensemble's melodies are rich with elements of jazz, swing, classical, and a combination of cultural influences.Trio Balkan Strings is a Belgrade, Serbia-based family project formed by guitarist/composer Zoran Starcevic and sons Nikola and Zeljko. Spontaneous and brimming with energy, the trio is known for their trademark of having six hands playing one guitar. They have performed in many festivals around the globe and have taught master classes for classical and jazz guitar students in Europe and the US.
