Description

Forrest Day is a singer/songwriter/producer/instrumentalist from the San Francisco Bay Area. He grew up playing the saxophone and started playing in bands at 14. After years of Jazz and Reggae, and producing Hip-Hop beats, he began working on a solo project. Forrest Day writes songs that defy categorization, and with help from his horn-wielding friends, performs an interesting combination of hip- hop and indie-rock, with subtle elements of jazz and reggae. The sound is very eclectic, but would be categorized best as Hip-Hop/Indie-Rock, or Fusion Hip Hop. He started his 8-piece band in October of 2006 to support his self-titled E.P. The band is comprised of Forrest Day on Vocals and Alto Sax, Guitarist Terrell Liedstrand, Keyboardist Nick Wyner, Bari-Sax player Dave Eaton, Tenor-Sax player Dave Bullers, Bassist John Sankey, Drummer Jasper Skydecker, and Percussionist Travis Whalen. The band is powerfully unique yet familiar and radio friendly.
